Police have arrested 13 individuals following a violent altercation believed to have stemmed from a debt collection dispute in the Jinjang Utara area of Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
According to Sentul District Police Chief, Basri Sagoni, authorities were alerted to the incident after a member of the public contacted the 999 emergency hotline to report a disturbance near a commercial complex.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the incident was triggered by a disagreement related to debt repayment and collection matters.
The verbal dispute subsequently escalated into a physical confrontation, leaving one person injured, Basri said.
Police are continuing their investigations and have recorded statements from the 13 individuals arrested in connection with the incident.
